(September 2011) Variation to the qualifications requirements in the STCA so that teacher registration is recognised as equivalent to a verified teacher training qualification and to clarify that teachers who are fully registered but do not hold a subject specialist qualification are placed in the G3 salary group.

List of secondary schools where teachers are eligible for the High Priority Teacher Supply Allowance - HPTSA. Relates to section 4.13 in the STCA.
(Ministry of Education website) This lump sum provides for the travel, phone, transfer grant, uniform grant, accommodation expenses and travelling meal allowances available to qualifying teachers under the T&R provisions of the Teachers' Collective Agreements (CAs). This payment is made within 5 days of the teacher's entitlement to the T&R provisions being confirmed by the Ministry.

Pro-rata teachers receive a payment which is a proportion of their full-time salary entitlement. They are also paid for an additional time equivalent to 11 percent of class contact hours which is equal to an additional payment of one hour for each nine hours of actual class teaching. (Clause 4.5 STCA Part-time teachers). (2008) Senior Management Allowances: Guidelines for implementing the SMA provisions of the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement 2007-2010. These guidelines are to assist the implementation of this provision, described in clause 4.3B of the STCA .This advice applies to secondary teachers and their employers in all secondary schools and was prepared in consultation with NZSTA and PPTA’s Senior Position Advisory Committee
