Members of the New Zealand Secondary Principals' Council (NZSPC) are listed with email contact information on this web page.

NZSPC members serve for two years, and half of the Council is elected each November. The Chairperson is elected by Council members, the PPTA Executive nominates a member, and a PPTA advisory officer acts as secretary.

Julia trained as an English teacher after studying at Canterbury University. She has spent all of her working life in Wellington. Teaching initially at Mana and Tawa Colleges, she then became head of department in English at Porirua College, assistant principal at Queen Margaret and deputy principal at Upper Hutt before becoming principal of Aotea College. In 2008 she took up her present position as principal of Wellington Girls' College.

Linda is principal of Kelston Girls' College.

Mary Ann has been principal of Hamilton Girls' High School since April 2008. Her career spans across primary, secondary and tertiary, as well as three years in a political position as president of ASTE, the tertiary sector union covering polytechnics and colleges of education.

John was a teacher of History, Social Studies and English in Upper Hutt, Auckland, Beijing, London and Canterbury for enough years that some current history topics were experienced live.  He ended the last millenium by moving into senior management in area schools and has been principal at Collingwood Area School since 2002.

Dawn is of Ngati Manawa, Tuhoe, Ngapuhi, Ngati Awa descent. She is principal of Rangitahi College. She would like to see more active involvement from the Maori sector of principals, at secondary level.

Warwick is the new principal at Burnside High School (see Press article Learning outside classroom valued). He was principal of Wanganui High School, where he took up the position in 1994 after having been a deputy principal at Trident High School Whakatane.

Kevin is principal of Central Southland College. New to NZSPC in 2008, Kevin has been active in PPTA for many years in a variety of roles. He represented Canterbury as an executive member from 1988 to 1994 and then was the Otago executive member from 1997 to 2003.

Geraldine is currently principal of Hastings Girls' High School, a position she has held for the past 10 years. Prior to this she was principal of St Mary' s Diocesan School for Girls in Stratford.

Rosey is principal of Inglewood High School.

Liz was appointed to Auckland Girls' Grammar School in 1990 as assistant principal and was appointed to the position of principal in 1997.

Jim is principal of Greymouth High School.

Lisl has been principal at Sacred Heart College Lower Hutt since 2000.

As a co-opted member of the council she strongly supports its stance on the provision of a robust state schooling system.
