| Description | (May 2009) Preparing financial statements on balance sheet date. This unit was chosen because it is likely to remain in the majority of Accounting courses due to its fundamental nature. Financial statements can be taught at any year level and this unit plan guide can be reworked easily to fit the various levels. The process and thinking detailed on this unit plan should enable teachers to use a similar process with other units. This unit was also chosen because it is a good contrast to the other Accounting unit plan outline being prepared for the Curriculum Support days (for Year 11). Initially at first glance this unit did not appear to easily meet the front sections for the New Zealand Curriculum; however this turned out not to be the case.
