National Coordinator - Professional Development Fund for Secondary School Teachers

The Association is seeking a National Coordinator for the Professional Development Fund for Secondary School Teachers.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead an important initiative between NZPPTA and the Ministry of Education.

The position is based in the Association’s national office in Wellington and is to provide co-ordination of, and leadership in, the PLD Fund.  This is a fixed term position, as the government funding was provided, in 2020, for a four-year term.

The Fund is subject to a Memorandum of Agreement (“MoA”) with the Crown and requires detailed quarterly reporting to the Ministry of Education.

This is a high level position and the appointee, along with education, leadership and event organising experience, will also have skills in managing stakeholder relationships and report writing.

A commitment to secondary teacher professional learning and development and high quality public education is essential.

The Association is committed to partnership in terms of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is an equal opportunities employer.

The salary range is comparable to that paid to senior positions in secondary schools.

Applications must be received by 5.00 p.m. on Friday 23 April 2021 and should be marked confidential and emailed to cmcnicol@ppta.org.nz.
