Register now for the CTU Women's Conference

The Council of Trade Unions' Women's Conference is an opportunity to honour our union sisters, eat and talk, network, socialise, see films, agitate, advocate, meet old friends and allies and make new ones.

It is a biennial event (occurring every two years), and this year it will take place at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington July 12-13.

This year's theme is "Wāhine Toa: Organising for Change".

Some great key note speakers are confirmed:

  • Julie Anne Genter, The Minister for Women
  • Tania Te Whenua, the acting legal counsel to the CTU and PSA on the  Mana Wāhine Kaupapa Inquiry
  • Saunoamaali'i Dr Karanina Sumeo, the new Human Rights EEO Commissioner
  • Mich Elle Meyers, National Officer of the Maritime Union of Australia

There will be eight workshops and a panel session.

Here's the official Facebook event:

If you would like to attend, PPTA national office will pay your conference registration, and your region pay your flights and accommodation. Obviously, you'll need to get approval for the latter from your regional committee.

Once you have the approval of your region, please fill out this form to register for the conference.
