Toitu te Matauranga, Toitu nga Kura | Standing for Public Education is PPTA Te Wehengarua’s campaign to support the public education system and the kaiako who teach in it.  

We stand for public education because it creates communities and provides opportunities for all New Zealand students. 

Teacher shortages and unmet student needs are stopping our students from achieving their full potential in the public system

The government must properly resource public education by attracting and retaining new teachers to the profession, and providing all the supports students need to thrive.  

We invite all teachers, students, parents, community members and friends to join us in this campaign.
