A collection of resources, stories about Maramataka and Matariki. The Matariki public holiday is almost upon us, so right now is the perfect time to learn more about te ao Māori. The whetu (stars) are what signify the coming of the Māori new year, and are visible during this time of year across much (but not all) of the motu. Each whetu in Te Kahui o Matariki (the Matariki star cluster) is associated with an important role in the coming year.
