PPTA Te Wehengarua is a bicultural organisation and has a bicultural structure. Members can join the Māori electoral roll, be elected to te reo ā rohe regional positions and stand for election to the national Te Huarahi Māori Motuhake positions.
Ngā Manu Kōrero National Secondary School Speech Contests are sponsored by PPTA.
The National Kapa Haka secondary school competitions are supported by PPTA.
