PPTA Te Wehengarua employs a variety of staff including field officers, the mataroa, a membership education coordinator, advisory officers (including the media team, the women's officer, and the āpiha Māori) and staff members who are employed to manage PPTA's financial, communication, membership and clerical needs.

Call for nominations for Area Schools Advisory Committee – Area 1

Due to a resignation, nominations are invited to fill a vacancy on the Area Schools Advisory Committee representing Area 1 for the remainder of 2019.

The Area Schools Advisory Committee gives advice to Executive about the needs of members in area schools and monitors negotiations for the area schools Collective Employment Agreement.

The term of office is for one year.

Area 1 includes the following regions: Northland Upper, Central and Lower, Tamaki Makaurau Auckland and Counties-Manukau.

Nominations for positions on the Area Schools Advisory Committee should include a signed nomination form and a candidate information sheet (attached).

Komiti Pasifika 

Nominations are invited for six vacancies on Komiti Pasifika for the term 1 February 2019 to 31 January 2021.

The Komiti Pasifika advises the PPTA on the needs of Pasifika teachers and students.  The Komiti generally advises the PPTA national executive on Pacific issues and concerns, as well as bringing a Pacific outlook to PPTA policy.  One of the Komiti Pasifika members is also a member of the PPTA executive. 

There are four vacancies in Area 1, which includes: Northland (Upper Central & Lower), Tamaki Makaurau Auckland, Counties Manukau, Waikato, Central Plateau, Hauraki Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Western Bay of Plenty, Taranaki and East Coast.

There are two vacancies in Area 2, which includes  Hawkes Bay, Manawatu - Wanganui, Wairarapa, Wellington, Hutt Valley, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Aoraki, Otago, Southland.

Senior Positions Advisory Committee elections

Elections are being held for PPTA's Senior Positions Advisory Committee (SPAC) for:

Area 4 – Counties-Manukau, Hauraki Coromandel 

Area 11 – Canterbury, Aoraki regions

The committee provides advice to the executive on matters affecting those in senior management positions in secondary and area schools.

If you are in these regions keep an eye out for a voting form or ask your branch chair, who will collate the results. 

Voting closes 5pm 1 March.
