Ending Streaming in Aotearoa 2025 - Regional Wānanga Series

We're on the road to Tāmaki Makaurau! 

We will be at the Auckland Airport Sudima Hotel in Tāmaki Makaurau on the 26th of May. 

The purpose of the workshop is to provide attendees with the tools they will need to shift their schools and kura away from the practice of streaming. It does not matter where your school is on the destreaming journey, we think this workshop is a great opportunity for PLD and networking for positive change.

We know it won't happen overnight, but there is plenty of research to share and we have plenty of tools and resources to help you make it happen. 

The wānanga will provide a range of resources and ideas for moving your school away from these practices - included how to use group work effectively, timetable and course design, and high expectation teaching. 

We will hear from Professor Christine Rubie-Davies and Dr Hana O'Regan as well as a range of classroom practitioners and curriculum leaders and you can korero with others about their own contexts.

Costs

There is no cost for members. We think it will help implement changes if you have a group to work with so we welcome up to three from each school. Please ask if you would like more. 

We will cover the cost of relief for up to three members from one school as well as transport costs (mileage). 

We will also provide accommodation for any members from the Northland region. 

Non-members may attend with a cost ($50) which will be invoiced. 

Our next wānanga will be held in Te Waipounamu the South Island. Venue and location to be announced. We also have wānanga planned in Waikato and the lower North Island.
