Are you passionate about advocating for educators and shaping the issues that matter most to them? Do you thrive on turning data into insights and using evidence to support change? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for a dynamic advisor to join our national office team in Wellington. This is your chance to work at the heart of education advocacy, combining strategic thinking with hands-on engagement.

What you’ll do:

       Lead projects that shape policy and improve conditions for secondary teachers and principals.

       Use data and member feedback to spot trends, strengthen negotiations, and support our campaigns.

       Work on policy development and advocacy for the issues teachers care about most.

       Build strong relationships with Māori members and representative structures, supporting our Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitment.

What we’re looking for:

       A confident communicator who can take charge of key projects and adapt quickly.

       Experience in collective agreement negotiations, advocacy, and working in a union or education setting.

       A real interest in data-driven decision-making and the ability to turn numbers into clear insights.

       A strong commitment to union values and goals.
