PPTA lodges claim with the Waitangi Tribunal
PPTA Te Wehengarua has filed a claim with the Waitangi Tribunal to voice our opposition to the current and proposed policies of the coalition government, which we assert constitute breaches of Te Tiriti.

Over many years, PPTA Te Wehengarua has worked to understand and develop practices that give effect to Te Tiriti, to improve outcomes for tauira Māori and address he disparities they face within the education system.
Since the election of the coalition government in 2023, we have witnessed numerous policies that are designed to undermine the progress made towards upholding Te Tiriti obligations and improving outcomes for tauira Māori.
These policies, and how they are in breach of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, are outlined in our claim.
